When you open mIRC you there should be a window labeled "Options" open. You can now enter your name and e-mail address in the boxes provided (you do not need to enter this information if you do not want to.)
Enter your nickname and alternative nickname into the boxes. I recommend using a name that most people in the chat will recognize, (i.e. your callsign). You should also enter an alternative just in case your first choice of nickname is already in use.
Once you have filled in this information, you should ensure that you will connect to the right server and not any others. If you have never connected before, press the button labeled Add; this will bring up a new window.
You should enter bhorizon.com into the IRC Server field and ensure that the port field is 6667. You should leave the Group and Password fields empty. You can enter any name into the Description field, as it serves only to tell you which server it is, I recomend using MS IRC Server or the name of the server itself, bhorizon. Once you have done this, press Add to go back to the Options window. (Note that the example images show our fallback server, irc.enterthegame.com. Always try bhorizon first, however.)
Select "bhorizon" in the drop down box above the Connect to IRC server! button, then press the button. If you are on the Internet, your IRC client will try to connect to the server. When you are succesfuly connected a message welcoming you to the server should scroll up. You are now ready to join the Morning Star Chat. To go to the channel, type /join #MorningStar and you will be taken to the room.
