Twitch earned her nickname because of the way she handles interaction with her pilots; one moment she´s a passive, almost kind and sweet droid willing to follow any command given, the next she´s swearing in binary and threatening to do a cold shutdown of the fighter if she doesn´t get what she wants. Her pilots have described her as having a split personality, yet each time she´s been checked out by mechanics she´s always described as a normal astromech droid. Twitch´s personality hiccups wouldn´t be quite so bad if she didn´t have a high-grade astronavigation program enabling her to actually take over the fighter that she’s hooked into; pilots who have been in the cockpit when this is done have ended up asking for a transfer to something less dangerous, like explosive ordinance disposal.
History:
Twitch was originally an astromech on one of the Sluis Van shipyards, helping to calculate plots and docking coordinates. It´s unsure exactly how her programming became infected with the personality problem, but it didn´t seem to manifest until after she left the shipyards and worked aboard a smuggler´s ship in Nal Hutta. After spending a little time with the Hutts, Twitch was sold to the Alliance shortly before the Battle of Endor and went through a series of pilots before being saddled with Rob aboard the Morning Star. Ever since, Rob has been threatening to wipe the droid´s memory and reprogram it, but she always seems to know when he´s going to do it and hides.
