Personality:
Whether it is to the Alliance, the mission, or his pilot/owner, Doc is loyal to a fault. While generally quiet and subdued, he enjoys playing jokes on whomever he can. He is always willing to help in any capacity to get the mission done.

History:
Doc was originally designated R2-M8 when he was first assigned to the medical frigate Salvation. During a skirmish in which the frigate was attacked by a band of pirates looking for bacta, drugs and other medical supplies, M8 was placed in an X-wing that was defending the frigate. A pirate ugly got in a lucky shot, hitting M8's dome. The pilot was fortunate enough to make it through the engagement without M8's help and get back to the frigate where M8 was repaired. However, there were no more red domes in stock, so the techs replaced his dome with a green one.

A few months later, a lull in the action led to M8 helping out in the droid repair area. During his duty there, there was a 2-1B droid that was malfunctioning and the techs decided to download the droid's medical data into M8 while the repair work could be done on the 2-1B. The next day, M8 (literally) ran into FC Michadick in a nearby hallway. Schmitty was one of the only people that didn't say anything about M8's mismatched colors. He saw Schmitty around the frigate several times over the next few days and instantly felt attached to him.

Unbeknownst to him, Schmitty had convinced the commander of the Salvation to allow him to purchase M8 for a reasonable fee. M8 was glad to be able to finally get off the medical frigate and be a full-time "co-pilot" again. He found out that he and Schmitty were headed for the frigate Regis to be members of Red SQ.

As they sat in the X-wing getting ready to take off, Schmitty asked him about his time aboard the Salvation and found that the droid still had most of a 1B's medical database in his memory. Schmitty laughed and jokingly started calling him "Doc". Shortly after arriving on the Regis, Schmitty had R2-M8's designation changed to R2-1B to better fit his new name.
