Comments:
Telgorn Corp. has been producing the Dx series for the Imperial Army for over fifteen years. As its name indicates, the Dx-9 is designed to function as an armored troop carrier and boarding craft. It has a capacity of thirty soldiers or stormtroopers, or ten Zero-G Stormtroopers. Furthermore, its weapons (the same load as a Y-wing) allow it to disable starships for boarding or provide close support to ground troops. Finally, TRNs are sometimes modified for in-flight refueling and rearming of starfighters.

Recognizing a good thing when they see it, the Alliance has acquired many TRNs over the years and uses them for the same purposes as the Empire.

Tactical:
Rebel Transports will, like Shuttles, usually either be heading away from the battle or sent in to board something. In either case, they can usually be left to fend for themselves while you take out the fighters, being somewhat faster and more maneuverable than Shuttles. It's still a good idea to assign them to memory, however, so that you can keep track of their progress.

If a TRN is available for warhead resupply, don't signal for a reload while too close to the engagement area, as both you and the TRN may be destroyed by enemy fire while docking. Likewise, keep your finger off the trigger while you're being reloaded! When you're done, wait a moment for the reload craft to move off to a safe distance before returning to the fight.

Imperial Transports should be your highest target priority. Their torpedoes and ion cannons are usually fired at the ship(s) you're defending; if you let enough TRNs get through, kiss your mission objectives goodbye. Add to this their ability to board and capture your ships, and their annoying habit of leaving a drifting hulk for you to crash into when destroyed, and you can see why they're so dangerous.

Intercept incoming TRNs immediately, outside of torpedo range of their targets if possible. Don't be afraid to use your own torpedoes (two each) or missiles on them for a quick long-range kill.
